Mission

Save lives by meeting the most critical needs in our communities and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer. Last year, we provided more than 20,000 services to Hoosiers in need and contributed $350,000 to research efforts. Komen Central Indiana dollars were responsible for the diagnosis of about 150 new cases of breast cancer, or 7% of all breast cancers diagnosed in our service area last year. Each year in central Indiana, more than 2,000 new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed and 420 people will die from the disease. Based on the needs of the 41 counties we serve, this year Komen Central Indiana is investing nearly a half million dollars to lead two initiatives: The Education and Linkage to Care Program and Continuum of Care Navigation Program.
