Mission
Our mission is clear. To promote and raise awareness of the importance of early detection and prevention concerning health issues for men, especially in the area of prostate cancer. We exist to help eradicate the lines that enable health disparities in this world to exist. Although, it is a lofty goal we believe by providing this safety net we can pursue our mission on all fronts: education, awareness, and prevention. With these tools we believe we can provide an inexpensive opportunity for community members to learn about health promoting behaviors and make healthy lifestyle changes. The event was started over 15 years ago by Dr. James K. Bennett, who recognized the stark reality of the state of African-American men and their health. Our mission is supported by physicians, community, and faith-based organizations through charitable giving.
