Mission

The mission of Health Care Center for the Homeless, Inc. (HCCH) is "to provide quality health care services that improve the lives of the homeless and medically indigent people of our community." HCCH provides multiple health services for homeless and low-income housed but uninsured or under-insured residents of Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties in Central Florida.  Services are provided through multiple Orange Blossom Family Health locations in the tri-county area and Orange Blossom Pediatrics in Orlando. Program areas include primary and preventive medical care; oral health services; behavioral health and substance use disorder counseling; pharmacy services; vision services; and mobile medical and dental care.  HCCH operates a residential TB shelter for homeless patients suffering from infectious tuberculosis.  Our street outreach program, known as the HOPE Team, meets our unsheltered homeless clients where they live - on the streets and in the woods.  Our permanent supportive housing team is helping our chronically homeless community members to acquire housing and wrapping supportive services around them. In 2018 (most recent numbers available), HCCH cared for 19,059 unique patients resulting in almost 50,000 encounters throughout our multiple health programs. Over 4,300 of the patients we cared for were experiencing homelessness; over 92% were living at or below 100% of the poverty level; and over 74% had no form of health coverage.
