Mission

Established in 2019 as a nonprofit advocacy, patient support, clinical consulting, and cancer research interest, The Chrysalis Initiative (TCI) is the only organization nationally that focuses exclusively on correcting equity issues around prevention, care, and outcomes in cancer for Black/African American and other people of color. TCI has an established successful program of equity interventions for this population, based on enhanced patient navigation/coaching, and on clinical program equity assessment working with cancer centers. Its offerings improve self-steps and reduce care disparities, and directly intervene to identify and correct gaps in cancer programs that are the result of conscious and unconscious racial bias.
