Mission

The Kristin S. Conrad Lace Center Foundation continues the educational goals of Kris Conrad, a Sir Walter Raleigh Lacers Guild co-founder and lace artist. The Lace Center's task is to establish and maintain a Lace Museum in downtown Raleigh, providing the first East Coast footprint of fine textile and fiber art. The museum offers a permanent exhibition of masterpieces with the works of Ms. Conrad, lace pieces spanning four hundred years, and contemporary 3-D creations. The Foundation instituted a range of instructional, programmatic and emerging needs, including instruction, lectures and demonstrations on lacemaking for adults and youth and supporting local and regional lace showcases.
