Mission

The Lawrence County Civic Center, a historical building, is used as a meeting place, event location and houses the Lawrence County Regional History Museum and the Military Museums. Officially decared a Mississippi Landmark in 1987, it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. As the Centerpiece of our community, it is used as our very own convention center. Several thousand people a year come through this old school building, as we host family reunions, weddings, cultural meetings, political forums and other vital community events. The Regional History Museum and our Military Museums are tourist destinations for those seeking a peek at the past. School children are treated to specialized tours to help them understand how Lawrence County has grown and changed.
