Mission

Small Comforts was founded in February, 1999 as a result of the many hours Candace Cima spent at her husbands side while he was in and out of many hospitals dealing with kidney disease, the subsequent receiving and rejecting of a transplant, two heart attacks, prostate cancer and other medical problems. Seeing the other patients who through no fault of their own were also forced to deal with their many medical problems she realized how much was being done for the physical patient and how little for the emotional. There are many wonderful Medical Facilities dedicated to research and medical care of the Chronically Ill. But little is available to help the chronically ill person through the difficult days of their lives. Small Comforts was founded to raise their morale and quality of life.
