Mission
Danang is a city of about 700,000 people. Its neighboring province is Quang Nam. Both areas are in Central Vietnam, about 400 miles north of Ho Chi Minh City and 400 miles south of Hanoi. Danang City and Quang Nam Province were both scenes of fierce fighting during the war. Since Liberation in 1975, each still suffers from the effects of the war, including very serious problems associated with America's use of Agent Orange. Associated cancers and other problems affect thousands of those directly exposed, as well as their children and grandchildren. Malnutrition, a lack of available education, inadequate medical care, homelessness, lack of employment, and a variety of other extremely serious problems affect thousands of hard-working and courageous people. The focus of aid includes: Agent Orange victims, homeless, hungry, sick, children, elderly, lepers, and others in particularly difficult circumstances.
