Mission

The Dr. Paul Reed Baltimore Memorial Fund has been established to provide assistance to part-time college professors who are experiencing financial distress. Universities assign teaching contracts for individual classes on a semester basis, and this short-sighted method offers little or no financial stability to those professors who are designated as part-time or contingent. Our purpose is to provide financial support, on an as-needed basis, to those struggling with rent or food insecurities as a result of this profit driven practice. An additional goal for the fund is to raise awareness about this issue and to advocate alongside teachers’ unions and professional organizations to secure equity and respect for the part-time community.
